LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - United Way and the South Plains Homeless Consortium are seeking volunteers to help with this year’s Point in Time Survey, which counts Lubbock’s homeless population.

The survey will take place on Jan. 24 and volunteers have the choice of either going out throughout the streets and find homeless people around the city or count people who are staying at places like the Salvation Army or Women’s Protective Services, according to the United Way website.

Volunteers who sign up are asked to attend one of three available training, which will hosted Today, Jan. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again the same day from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Those who volunteer through the website will be told at a later time where the training will take place, according to a representative from United Way.

Registration for volunteering can be found here .
