United Way Youth Division

United Way Youth Division (UWYD) is a program for high school students in grades 9-12, seeking opportunities to meet other students from all over the Lubbock Area, to engage in impactful volunteer opportunities, and to learn about United Way’s work in the community. Coordinated by United Way Community Partner the Volunteer Center of Lubbock, UWYD seeks to create a culture of service and develop the next generation of leaders. By participating in “hands-on” service projects and hearing Community Partner presentations, students receive an in-depth view of problems affecting the Lubbock Area, participate in solutions to those problems, and discover how they can make an ongoing influence in their community. UWYD is conducted as a year-round program and youth may sign up at any time throughout the year.
