The Lubbock Area United Way has raised more than $3 million halfway through its campaign. That's more than 61% of its goal.
The announcement was made at the Mid-campaign Luncheon Thursday. Big portions of the contributions were from the Jacky Pierce Golf Classic and the United Way's Live United Tournament.
"You receive what you put into your community and Lubbock's a big example of that. There's so many people that give to our community. I think they get tenfold back out of it," Campaign Chair Tony Lloyd said.
The final campaign report meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. Volunteers and community members wishing to attend the final report luncheon should RSVP to events@unitedway-lubbock.org or call 806-747-2711.
