Jon Stephens named 2017 United Way Campaign Chair

Jon Stephens, Lubbock Market President for SouthWest Bank, has been named the 2017 Campaign Chair for Lubbock Area United Way. In 2016, the Annual United Way Campaign raised over $6 million to support its 23 Community Partners.  Stephens and a campaign cabinet of 30 volunteers will set the 2017 campaign goal to be announced at a Kick-Off Luncheon on August 31st at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. 

“Serving as the United Way Campaign chair is a tremendous honor. The work the United Way partner agencies do day in and day out for our community is vital to so many of those in the Lubbock area,” said Stephens.

“Last year was a record-setting year for the United Way Campaign, raising more than $6 million. Our goal this year is to continuing breaking records so our agencies can serve the critical needs of even more people in our area.”

Lubbock born and raised, Stephens is a graduate of Coronado High School and Texas Tech University.  A long-time community volunteer, he currently sits on the Lubbock Area United Way board of directors, serves as a board member and past board chair for March of Dimes, chaired the American Cancer Society Cattle Baron’s Ball and Signature Chefs event for March of Dimes, served as chair of the Leadership Lubbock Steering Committee, and chaired the United Way Campaign Loaned Executive Division.

Stephens and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 13 years and have two sons, Palmer and Graham, and three dogs. The family attends Redeemer Church.
