Annual Campaign

With Lubbock Area United Way, we are Better Together.

United Way has many strengths. One of our greatest is the power of connectivity, or bringing people together. Since our founding, we have connected people with diverse perspectives and built strength in our community. But we could not make an impact in our community and address the root causes of issues on the South Plains without our Community Partners, donors, and volunteers. The only way to make an impact is together.

Being “Better Together” means using our collective strengths to tackle complex problems. When we combine our strengths, we can uplift every part of the South Plains community.

That's the power of United Way - it's all of us coming together to do real good and bring real hope.

When you support Lubbock Area United Way, you're not just helping someone for a day. You are working to create solutions that change lives, change systems, and change our community far into the future. Together, we're moving the needle on important issues like education, confronting violence economic mobility, and mental health.

Make your gift now.

Your light matters. Your gift - whether it's $1 or $1000 - when combined with your neighbor's light and your coworker's light and with thousands of others in our community, illuminates every corner of the South Plains.

A Message from 2023 Campaign Chair John Zwiacher

As I visited with each of our Community Partners, it was evident that the theme for the 2023 campaign of “Better Together” is so true. The Community Partners not only help each other, but together they help our communities in so many immeasurable ways. Many people are affected by the burden of the rising cost of living and the stress, financially and mentally, it has on us and our families. In the South Plains, 44% of households fall into the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) threshold, meaning they are employed but struggle to make ends meet and often have no capability of saving money for emergencies or other future needs.

I am honored to volunteer with you to do whatever it takes to support United Way, our Community Partners, the South Palins. As Lubbock grows, so does the need to help those who go through hard times. By committing to volunteer or be a supporter we can make a difference on the South Plains.

Thank you for volunteering and supporting this year’s campaign. We know we can meet the needs by being “Better Together”.
