Red Cross Welcomes New Executive Director

We are very pleased to welcome Deborah Finlayson as the new Executive Director for the American Red Cross Serving the Texas South Plains.

Deborah is a Texas Tech graduate and has more than 25 years of experience in fundraising through Texas Tech University and the YWCA of Lubbock. During her tenure at Texas Tech, Deborah raised over $17 million dollars for the university and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Deborah has worked a great deal with volunteers in her professional career and has herself volunteered with various organizations within the Lubbock community. At the YWCA, she worked with the volunteer board and for special events. With the Junior League of Lubbock, Deborah served on the board and as President in 2005. She is also a current member and Past President for the Lubbock Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Deborah’s fundraising experience includes overseeing the fundraising and construction of a $2 million project for the Delta Gamma sorority on the Texas Tech campus.

In her free time, Deborah enjoys singing with the First United Methodist Church choir, which she has been a member of for more than 30 years. She is married to Craig, and they have two adult children.

“It will be a great honor to work with the American Red Cross Lubbock Chapter. The board and all those involved in the local chapter are very dedicated hard-working volunteers. I am looking forward to digging in at the American Red Cross to continue the strength that this organization has brought to our community,” Deborah said.

Deborah, we're very excited to work with you in a new way through your new role at the Red Cross. Thanks for doing all that you have done for our community and continuing the good work.
