Mission: Catholic Charities is committed to living the Social Gospel as contained in Matthew 25: "Whenever you did this for one of the least important of these, you did it for me."
We take our mandate from the Diocese of Lubbock to serve people of all faiths acting always in favor of the poor while challenging oppression and injustice. We strive to empower those we serve and those who help us serve to become all they can become – brothers and sisters in the Lord as members of the Body of Christ.
Programs funded by the Lubbock Area United Way:
Elderly Outreach Program: Provides persons 60 years old and older with emergency assistance for dentures, medicines, hearing aids, eye glasses and transportation.
Parent Empowerment Program: Assists low-income parents enrolled in a college, university or trade school with tuition, books, and limited family expenses. The goal of the program is to transition the family out of poverty by mentoring and providing a supportive road-map toward success.
